Building Your Business For Success In 2010

I was observing the shop for all the consecutive days. Day by day and hour to hour, the shop gathered momentum and the sale was picking up steadily. I made a quick survey also with the customers who entered the shop. I could under stand that the color, words and size of letters in the banner had their role in pulling the people!

In the business management context, I have observed too many mangers who do not really learn from mistakes. Something happens. People work around stuff or accept the bad result. But the lessons were not brought to light and so nothing was gained from the experience. We have all heard the oft repeated saying that “we learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes.” But, do we really? We should learn from our mistakes or those made by our employees but too often nothing of value is gained. That said, there is light at then end of the tunnel! Here are three management skills that will help.

OAsk them to write down a few ideas to make the group better. Not any formal approach, and aside from any company wide productivity plans or approaches.

From the start of your business activity, try to formulate a plan and a budget. This will help structure your financial management. Do not worry if your first forecasts are wildly out. As you gain knowledge of your business and its market environment, your forecasts may improve. The important thing is to keep in the management way of thinking. That will help you keep your finger on the financial pulse. Your business will be more profitable in the long run.

Vijay has once attended my seminar on “business strategy for Success” and now wants my help. He said that he has got a stock of about 4000 numbers of T-shirts. He has taken a temporary shop in the down line of the 10th street on the busy cross cut road of Coimbatore city. The shop is going to be only for 5 days just before the festival of lights.

modern leadership If you are taking non-strategic action, you know it. You’ve got a “map” that lets you know when you’re off your plan. You’re probably feeling some discomfort about this awareness – that helps your reorient.

Get into the habit of taking regular breaks during the day. These breaks do not have to be long even 15 minutes a day can be effective. However, for these breaks to be effective you must be able to switch off from your work and walk away from it. If the weather outside is good then use that as an opportunity to take a walk. Focus your thoughts away from your work. By doing this you will relax your mind and when you return to your desk you should feel more rejuvenated.
